Authentic Moroccan Bath in Dubai

The traditional hammam ritual — steam, Beldi black soap, kessa exfoliation and Rhassoul clay — performed by our therapists in a private, women-only room at Sasha JVC.

4.7/5 · 2,112+ Fresha reviews · Est. 1994 · 32 years · Women only

A Moroccan bath (hammam maghrabi) is a traditional North African cleansing ritual using steam, Beldi black soap, kessa-glove exfoliation and a Rhassoul clay mask to remove dead skin and leave the body smooth. It suits anyone whose skin feels dry, dull or congested from Dubai's climate, air conditioning and hard water. Sasha Beauty Salon offers it exclusively at its Jumeirah Village Circle branch in Bin Ghatti Corner — the only one of Sasha's six Dubai locations with a dedicated hammam room. The ritual is performed by Sasha's trained therapists in a private, women-only treatment room; Sasha has operated in Dubai since 1994. The Moroccan Bath takes one hour and costs AED 367.50; a Luxury Moroccan Bath with Blow-Dry is AED 682.50. Most clients book it every three to four weeks.

Why Sasha

The Sasha difference

Since 1994

Thirty-two years in Dubai, and one of the Emirates' first salon-spa groups. The hammam is not a bolt-on service here.

A dedicated room

JVC has a purpose-built hammam room. Your ritual is private and women-only from start to finish.

Trained therapists

The ritual is performed by therapists trained in authentic hammam technique, not adapted from a standard body scrub.

Hygiene standards

Every Sasha branch follows Dubai Municipality health protocols. Single-use items are never reused.

Benefits

Why choose a Moroccan bath

i

Deeper exfoliation than home care

The kessa glove lifts away dead skin that a shower scrub leaves behind.

ii

Built for Dubai's climate

Answers the dryness and dullness caused by constant AC, hard water and UV exposure.

iii

Smoother skin, immediately

Most clients notice the difference in texture the same day, before they leave.

iv

A genuine ritual, not a scrub

Steam, black soap, kessa and clay in sequence — the traditional order, done properly.

The ritual

How the Moroccan bath works

One hour, five stages, in the traditional order.

  • Steam. You start in warm steam, which softens the skin and opens the pores so the ritual can work.
  • Beldi black soap. Traditional olive-based Moroccan black soap is applied over the body and left to sit.
  • Kessa exfoliation. Your therapist works over the body with a kessa glove, lifting away dead skin.
  • Rhassoul clay. Mineral-rich Rhassoul clay is applied and left to settle on the skin.
  • Rinse and finish. Everything is rinsed away, leaving the skin clean and noticeably smoother.
  • The room is warm and humid throughout — that is the point of a hammam.
  • Exfoliation is firm and thorough. Tell your therapist at any time if you'd prefer lighter pressure.
  • You'll be in a private, women-only room with a female therapist for the whole ritual.
  • Allow a full hour, and give yourself a few unhurried minutes afterwards.

Expert tips from our hammam team

Don't shave or wax in the 24 hours before your hammam. Freshly shaved skin is more sensitive, and the kessa exfoliation will feel much sharper than it should.Sasha's expert team

Come hydrated. The steam does a lot of the work, and skin that starts out dehydrated never responds as well.Sasha's expert team

Every three to four weeks is the sweet spot. More often than that and you're exfoliating skin that hasn't finished renewing.Sasha's expert team

In Dubai, hard water undoes a hammam faster than most people expect. Moisturise the same evening — that's when it counts most.Sasha's expert team

Aftercare guide

  • Avoid shaving or waxing for 24 hours beforehand.
  • Drink water through the day — arrive hydrated, not thirsty.
  • Skip a heavy meal in the hour before your appointment.
  • Tell your therapist about any sensitivity, eczema or active skin condition first.
  • Moisturise the same evening, while the skin is freshly exfoliated.
  • Keep drinking water for the rest of the day.
  • Give freshly exfoliated skin a break from direct sun for 24 hours.
  • Leave harsh scrubs and strong actives alone for a couple of days.
  • Booking too often — every three to four weeks is enough.
  • Scrubbing again at home the next day. The work is already done.
  • Going straight into a chlorinated pool afterwards.
  • Booking a hammam the same day as waxing or a strong facial.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a Moroccan bath?

A Moroccan bath, or hammam maghrabi, is a traditional North African cleansing ritual. It combines steam, Beldi black soap made from olives, full-body exfoliation with a kessa glove, and a Rhassoul clay mask. The purpose is to remove dead skin thoroughly and leave the body clean and smooth.

How much is a Moroccan bath at Sasha Beauty Salon?

The Moroccan Bath is AED 367.50 and takes one hour. The Luxury Moroccan Bath with Blow-Dry is AED 682.50 and also takes one hour, finishing with a professional blow-dry. Both prices include 5% VAT and are available at the JVC branch only.

Which Sasha branch has the Moroccan bath?

Only Sasha JVC, at Bin Ghatti Corner in Jumeirah Village Circle. It is the one branch with a dedicated hammam room, so the ritual is not offered at Jumeirah Al Wasl, Jumeirah Park Pavilion, Vida Hills, Jumeirah Golf Estate or Wafi Mall. Call +971 4 570 9703 to book.

How long does a Moroccan bath take?

One hour, for both the standard Moroccan Bath and the Luxury Moroccan Bath with Blow-Dry. That hour covers the full ritual: steam, black soap, kessa exfoliation, Rhassoul clay and rinse.

How often should I get a Moroccan bath?

Every three to four weeks suits most people, which roughly matches the skin's natural renewal cycle. More frequently than that means exfoliating skin that hasn't finished renewing. In Dubai, where AC and hard water dry the skin quickly, many clients settle into a monthly rhythm.

Is the Moroccan bath at Sasha women only?

Yes. The Sasha JVC branch is women only, and the Moroccan Bath is performed by a female therapist in a private treatment room.

What should I do before a Moroccan bath?

Avoid shaving or waxing for 24 hours beforehand, as freshly shaved skin is more sensitive to exfoliation. Arrive hydrated, skip a heavy meal in the hour before, and tell your therapist about any sensitivity or skin condition so they can adjust pressure and products.

Does a Moroccan bath hurt?

It shouldn't. The kessa exfoliation is firm and thorough rather than painful, and most clients find it relaxing. Tell your therapist at any point if you'd prefer lighter pressure — the ritual is adjusted to you.

Is a Moroccan bath included in the Sasha loyalty packages?

No. The Moroccan Bath is excluded from the Solar, Cosmos and Galaxy packages, along with the Korean Hair Wash and eyelash services. Bank-card and branch-day offers may still apply — ask the JVC team when you book.

Where can I get a Moroccan bath in Dubai?

Sasha Beauty Salon offers it at its Jumeirah Village Circle branch, Bin Ghatti Corner, open daily from 11:00am to 9:30pm. JVC is convenient for Jumeirah Village Triangle, Al Barsha South, Motor City, Sports City and Arjan. Book on Fresha, call +971 4 570 9703, or WhatsApp +971 50 501 9963.
